The navigation maps are also updated via updates
from external storage media (e.g. USB flash drive).
Install available software updates regularly. Other-
wise the security of your MBUX multimedia sys-
tem and individual vehicle components cannot be
ensured.

Software updates can be protected with a sys-
tem PIN. Further information about the sys-
tem PIN ( page 494).

If the Wi-Fi hotspot requires logging in via the
browser, once the connection is successfully
established the browser will open in order to
start the update. Follow the instructions in the
browser in order to start the download.
