204 Seats and stowing
Make sure that the red marking of the lock verifi-
cation indicator is no longer visible. Otherwise,
the seat backrest is not locked.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, a message
will be displayed on the instrument cluster instead
of the red lock verification indicator.
Folding the rear seats forwards mechanically
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you can fold
the outer seat backrests forwards mechanically.
Move the driver's or front passenger seat for-
#
wards, if necessary.
To fold the left and right seat backrests for-
#
wards: if necessary, insert the head restraints
for the seat backrests ( page 186).

Pull release lever 1.

Fold the corresponding seat backrest for-
#
wards.

Fold the rear seat armrest back if necessary.

To fold the centre seat backrest forwards:

press release catch 3.
Fold seat backrest 2 forwards.

Observe the following recommendations:
If you wish to fold only one of the outer seat

backrests forwards, it is recommended that
you fold the right seat backrest forwards.
If you wish to fold one of the outer seat backr-
R
ests forwards together with the centre seat
backrest, it is recommended that you fold the
left and centre seat backrests forwards.
Folding the rear seats forwards electrically
If a seat in the second row of seats is not engaged
and locked, this will be shown on the multifunc-
tion display on the instrument cluster.
Ensure that the centre seat backrest is in an

upright position.
