TRANSPORT
SYSTEM
A: FEAEpDEERRPICK-UP UNIT
AND
1. Outline
When the pick-up roller clutch solenoid
(SLl)
engages,
main motor Ml
turns the
roller, feeding a sheet of copy paper to the
registration rollers. The number of rotations
of the pick-up roller varies with the length
of the copy paper. (See Table 3-4)
The copy paper is fed by the registration
rollers so that its leading edge is in line with
the leading edge of themtoner image on the
photosensitive drum. It then passes through
the transfer,
separation,
feed, fixing and
delivery stages to the copy tray.
The copy paper is sensed by phototran-
sistors (Q2 and 05). If.it does not reach or
pass the sensors within the specified
pe-
riod, the DC controller
PCB judges that a
jam has occurred
and causes the PAPER
JAM indicator on the control panel to flash.
Control
ring
Phototransistor
(al)
senses
whether
there is paper in the cassette. If there im,
the CASSETTE
PAPER OUT signal (CPEP)
becomes "0". causing the PAPER OUT indi-
cator on the control panel to go ON.
