Self.diagnosis display
Your camcorder has a self diagnosis display
t\mction.
This t\mction displays tile current condition of
your camcorder as a 5 digit code (a combination of
a letter and figures)
in tile viewfindec, on the LCD
screen or in the display window. Ifa 5 digit code is
displayed, check tile fbllowing code chart. Tile last
two digits (indicated lay DEE]) will diffbr depending
on the state of yore camcorder.

Cause and/or Corrective Actions
• You are using a battery pack that is not an
"InfioLITHIUM" hatte W pack.
• Use an "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack. (p. 11)
• Moisture condensation has occurred.
• Remove the cassette and leave your camcorder fur at
least one hour to acclimatize. (p. 138)
• The video heads are dirty.
• Clean the heads using the cleaning cassette (not
supplied). (p. 139)
• A malfunction other than the ahove that you can service
has occurred.
• Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate
your can-lcordet'.
• Disconnect the power cord of the AC power adaptor or
ren-love the battery pack. After reconnecting the power
source, opel'ate your
calllcorder.
• A mall\ruction that you cannot service has occun'ed.
• Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony
service facility and infbrm them of the 5 digit code.

If you are unable to rectify the problem even if you nTy corrective actions a few times,
contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
