ldiv

Declaration:
ldiv_t ldiv (long numerator, long denominator )

Description:
Computes the quotient and remainder of the division of the numerator by
the denominator. If the division is inexact, the resulting quotient is the
integer of lesser magnitude that is the nearest to the algebraic quotient. If
the result can be represented, then:
numerator = quot * denominator + rem
Inputs:
numerator
denominator — Denominator.
Outputs:
A structure (ldiv_t) whose elements are quot (quotient) and rem
(remainder) as defined above.
Assumptions:
None
Side Effects:
None
Availability:
In the jump table on AMS 2.04 and higher.
Always available in the AMS library.
