4. Connect one end of the power cord into the connector on the back of the power supply and connect the
other end of the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
5. Make sure that both the ac and dc power LEDs on the rear of the power supply are lit, indicating that the
power supply is operating correctly.

Use this information to remove an adapter
To remove an adapter on 4U server models with non-hot-swap power supplies, complete the following
steps. For the 5U server model with hot-swap power supplies, please see the next sub-section.
1. Read the safety information in
2. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices; then, disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
3. Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.
