The antivirus software on the LinkPlexer 6.0 server should not be
configured to deal automatically with suspected infected files. If infected
files are located, do not attempt to replace or remove them. Contact the
local Nortel Support representative for assistance in determining if the files
are part of the LinkPlexer 6.0 application or a critical system file.
Do not connect the LinkPlexer 6.0 server directly to the Internet for
downloading virus definitions or updated files. Instead, download virus
definitions and update files to another location on the customer network
and manually load them to the LinkPlexer 6.0 server. This is the same
recommended procedure for downloading Contact Center PEPs. This limits
access to the Internet, and thus reduces the risk of downloading infected
files.
Nortel recommends that you scan all PEP files, CD-ROMs, and floppy
disks prior to installation or uploading to the server. This minimizes any
exposure to infected files from outside sources.
Running antivirus software can place an additional load on the LinkPlexer
6.0 server. It is the implementation personnel's responsibility to run the
Windows Performance Monitor tool on the server to assess CPU utilization.
If the antivirus software scan causes the LinkPlexer 6.0 server average CPU
utilization to become excessive, then do not load that antivirus software
onto the LinkPlexer 6.0 server.
Notes:
Nortel does not provide support for the configuration of antivirus scan
software. Questions or problems with antivirus software should be directed
to the appropriate vendor.
The preceding recommendations are intended as guidelines only and do not
constitute a guarantee of compatibility. Nortel does not plan to perform
ongoing compatibility testing, or testing on other antivirus packages.
If performance or functionality issues are raised to Nortel support, as part
of the fault diagnosis process, the customer or distributor may be asked to
remove third-party utility software or antivirus software.
