Liquid Samples

Granular/Powder Samples**

Solid Samples**

1.
Fill the sample vial with 0.5 milliliters of the Sample Buffer (0.5 mark on the
vial).
2.
Add the liquid to be tested up to the 1.0 ml mark on the vial.
3.
Close the cap on the vial and agitate vigorously.
4.
Using the disposable bulb dropper remove liquid from top liquid layer (below
any foam) of the sample vial.
5.
Using the disposable dropper, place 5-7 drops into the sample port (3-5 drops
if using the Alexeter Collection Swab), filling the sample port completely
within a period of 3-4 seconds. When properly dosed, a red liquid will begin
moving across the test strip within 20 seconds.

Add Sample Buffer up to the 1.0 mark on sample vial.
2.
Place the sample to be tested into vial.
3.
Close the vial and mix the solution vigorously for 10 seconds.
4.
Allow particles to settle to the bottom of the vial (30-60 seconds).
5.
Using the disposable bulb dropper remove liquid from top liquid layer of the
sample vial (below any foam), being careful not to pull up particles that have
settled to the bottom.
6.
Using the disposable dropper, place 5-7 drops into the sample port (3-5 drops
if using the Alexeter Collection Swab), filling the sample port completely
within a period of 3-4 seconds. When properly dosed, a red liquid will begin
moving across the test strip within 20 seconds.

Solid Samples must be at no more than 0.75cm in diameter (this is the width
of the sample vial).
2.
In order to reduce contamination use tweezers to handle solid samples. Scis-
sors may be used to reduce sample size if sample is too large.
3.
Add Sample Buffer to the 1.0 mark on vial, then add the sample to be tested
to the vial.
4.
Agitate the sample vigorously for 10 seconds.
5.
Allow any particles to settle to the bottom of the vial (30-60 seconds).
6.
Using the disposable bulb dropper remove liquid from top liquid layer (below
any foam), of the sample vial being careful not to pull up particles that have
