If the T-reel pulses could not be detected over the regulated time while
tape is running, it is judged T-reel lock.

If the S-reel pulse is less than 3 pulses between LOAD position
and PLAY position when the loading is finished, it is judged miss
catching the tape.

If the rewinding has not finished within the regulated time when
the short rewinding on DOWN position, It is judged that the tape
could not be rewound.

If the mechanism lock is occurred during the loading to LOAD
position, it is judged that the loading could not be performed.
l
If the both ends are detected at LOAD position, it is judged that the
tape is cut off.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN Z-MECHANISM & R4-MECHANISM, IN TERMS OF SELF-DIAGONOSIS MODE?
1. OPERATION AFTER DETECTING THE ERROR: The Mechanism operation, after detecting the error has been changed.
2.ADDITION OF ERROR NUMBER [H 80].
In very rare cases, although VCR works fine, it might be detected as malfunction.
In such a case, the error code has just memorised in history of self-diagnosis result without displaying it on FIP, to prevent needless afraid of user.
However, its data can be displayed as the supplementary data 2, to clarify the course of Ejection. (Refer to the supplementary data.)
3.DETECTING METHODS of [F15] HAS BEEN CHANGED:
In Z-Mechanism, the error code; [F15] has been detected using S-Reel pulse, it means that
the [F15] shows "S-Reel pulse does not existed although cassette is inserted."
However, in R4-Mechanism, the error code; [F15] has been detected using Capstan FG pulse, it means that the [F15] shows "Capstan FG pulse does not existed although cassette is inserted."
(The reason of this modification is that impossibility of checking the S-Reel pulse due to Mechanism construction change.
Movement of the Mechanism

"18" is memorized on the self- diagnosis history.

The mechanism is shifted to LOAD position and tape rewinding is
performed.

The mechanism is shifted to PLAY position, and then stopped.

The self-diagnosis history is not remained when an Error in FF or REW,
the mechanism is shifted to LOAD position, and then rewinding is
performed.

The mechanism is shifted to PLAY position, and then the pinch pressure
runs the tape.

If an Error is detected again, "18" is memorized on the self-diagnosis
history.
l
The mechanism is shifted to LOAD position, and then tape rewinding is
performed.
The mechanism is shifted to PLAY position, and then stops.
l
EJECT is performed.
l
"80" is memorized on the self-diagnosis history
l
Reason of the ejection is memorized on the "supplementary data 2".
