Removing the Fan from a Hard Drive Installed in
Bays 5 or 6
IMPORTANT: This section only applies if there is a fan installed on the hard drive in bays 5
or 6. The fan is required when installing hard drives over 7200 rpm in bays 5 or 6.
To remove the fan:
1.
Perform the service preparations shown on page 3-2, remove the workstation feet, and
place the workstation on its side.
2.
Remove the side access panel.
3.
Disconnect the fan power cable.
