Electrical connection
Note
Control and signal lines must always be connected according to the circuit diagrams supplied
with the unit. Detailed information about connecting the components is given in the
interconnection diagram.
6.1
Safety instructions for electrical connection
When carrying out any work, carefully observe the information provided in Chapter "Safety
instructions (Page 11)".
Danger to life due to incorrect electrical connection
Death, severe injury, material damage or loss of warranty rights can occur if the electrical
connections have not been correctly and professionally established.
• Only deploy our experts and service technicians from SIEMENS LDA Customer Services to
electrically connect up the control update
• The customer guarantees that he is fully aware of the following facts:
– Any change made by him or personnel that are not experts in the field to the converter
– Until recertification, it is not permissible that the complete plant/drive system/drive train
Danger as a result of an insufficient degree of protection
The degree of protection can be diminished if the cable entries are inadequately sealed, e.g.
after making modifications to the top plate or base plate. Dirt and vermin can enter the device
while it is operational. When operated with an insufficient degree of protection, this can result
in death, serious injury and material damage.
• Close and seal the cable entries corresponding to the degree of protection.
