The following table explains the workflow from installation of the GM1 Controller through to its
operation.

Using GM Programmer, configure settings for GM1 parameters, motion
control, unit control, and communication function.

Create programs with GM Programmer.

Connect the servo amplifiers and the PC.
Install the USB driver on the PC.
Configure initial settings for the servo amplifiers.
Disconnect the servo amplifiers from the PC.
Connect the GM1 Controller and the PC with a cable.
Create a new project.
Configure communication settings.
Add and set up device objects for servo amplifiers.
Configure basic settings for EtherCAT axes.
Connect the GM1 Controller to the PC and each servo amplifier
and perform an operation check.
Log in to the GM1 Controller.
Log out from the GM1 Controller.
Set up the servo amplifier connected to the GM1 Controller.
Write parameters to the servo amplifier.
Write objects to the servo amplifier.
Check if a safety circuit is designed properly.
Check wiring for each device.
Perform an operation check.
Configure settings for the GM1 Controller.
Configure settings for motion control.
Configure settings for unit control.
Configure settings for the communication function.
Create objects (POU objects) for a program.
Select a programming language (LD, ST, SFC, FBD, IL, or CFC)
and enter a program.
