Avoid using or storing the drive near magnets
or devices that generate strong magnetic fields.
Avoid storing the drive where it will be
subjected to shock or vibration.
Do not disassemble or dismantle the
DVD drive.
(See Section Two, pages 36–37, for guidance on
loading a DVD or a CD in your DVD drive.)
C A U T I O N
The DVD drive must be installed or
removed with the power off.
P O I N T
The DVD drive cannot play full-screen in
true color (24-bit) mode. The mode must
be set to high color (16-bit) mode. You
will still see the video output in true
color, but the setting must be to high
color. The DVD drive can be played at
720 x 480 resolution in true color mode.

C A U T I O N
TV output is disabled during DVD-ROM
playback, but not during CD-ROM
playback on the DVD drive.
P O I N T
Optimal audio performance from DVD
drive playback requires turning off
3D-Stereo when using the Dolby Digital
(AC-3) audio output.

PC Cards perform a wide variety of functions,
and are ideal for mobile computers.

Fax/data modem cards (Type II).
Local area network (LAN) cards (Type II).
Wireless LAN cards (Type II).
1MB and 2MB static RAM (SRAM)
cards (Type I).

Caring for PC Cards
PC Cards are durable;however, you must treat
them with care. The documentation supplied
with your PC Card will provide specific infor-
mation; however, you should pay attention to
the following points:
To keep out dust and dirt ,s tore PC Ca rds in
t h eir pro tective sleeves wh en they are not in use.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
or excessive heat.
Keep the cards dry.
