To Install or Remove a Device in
Multi-function Bay 2
1. Close all files and exit all applications.

2. Turn off power to your notebook,unless
swapping batteries, close the display and
Release
remove the AC adapter. (See pages 24–25.)
Eject
3. Turn your notebook upside down with the
bay openings toward you.
To Remove a Device from
Multi-function Bay 2
4. Slide the release button at the left rear corner
of Multi-function Bay 2 toward the outer
edge of your notebook.
5. Twist the release button toward the front of
your notebook until the device in the bay
pops forward slightly.
6. Grasp the device by the left corner and
slide it forward until the device is clear of
the compartment.

C A U T I O N
The front panel of the CD-ROM drive
and DVD drive must be treated gently
when removing the drive from the Multi-
function bay or the drive can be damaged.
To Install a Device in Multi-function Bay 2
4.Orient the device to be installed with the
connector toward the body of your notebook
and closer to the up side o f the device.

5. Align the grooves on the sides of the
device with the tracks in the sides of the bay.

6. Slide the device toward the back of your
notebook until it clicks into pla ce. Make sure
that the release button has fully returned to
its latched position.
