Making the connections on the heating water side
Notes on installing the safety valve
■
In the event of water escaping, ensure that none of
the water runs over the boiler.
■
The supply line and discharge pipe for the safety
valve must not be fitted with shut-off devices.
The supply line and discharge pipe for the safety
■
valve must not be fitted with reducers.
The discharge pipe must discharge with a steady fall
■
and free cross-section into a funnel with stench trap.
■
The discharge pipe must not include more than 2
bends and must not be more than 2 m long.
If lengths of more than 2 m are necessary, use pipe-
work of the next larger diameter. Lengths over 4 m
and more than 3 bends are not permitted.
■
The drain line from the wastewater funnel must have
at least twice the cross-section of the connection
size of the safety valve.
Connecting the thermally activated safety valve
The valve of the thermally activated safety device is
mounted on the back of the boiler.

Incorrect installation of thermally activated
safety equipment can lead to injury and material
damage.

Any contamination of the system must be

removed prior to installation. Contamination
can accumulate on the valve seat and result in

a fault.
Install components in the correct sequence.

The thermally activated safety valve can be

installed in any position.
■
The arrow on the valve body indicates the
direction of flow.
■
The outlet is open to the atmosphere and must
not be closed off.
After installation, check that the valve is work-
■
ing correctly.
■
Do not loosen or tighten the nut on the red
operating button on the safety valve.
