3. VPC status – This icon is specific to phased combined systems. A one for one system will
have a round icon depicting the waveguide switch. The phase combine systems require
a VPC that is a separate component and therefore another device that must be queried
on the Ethernet buss. The VPC icon indicates the position of the variable phase
combiner. It also shows the serial number of the VPC itself such that the amplifiers may
communicate and control over the Ethernet.
4. Manual / Automatic Mode – This button controls the automatic function of the system.
In automatic mode an operational amplifier upon sensing a fault on the "other"
amplifier will move the VPC or switch to provide backup.
