15.1 Cooling system
The water pump
The pressure in the cooling system resulting from heat is regu-
lated by a valve in the radiator cap
the surplus coolant to flow into the compensating tank
the temperature falls, this surplus coolant is sucked back into the
cooling system. This permits the specified coolant temperature
without causing any malfunctions.

Cooling takes place by means of the air stream and a radiator

fan , which is controlled by a thermoswitch.
The lower the speed, the less the cooling effect. Dirty cooling fins
also reduce the cooling effect.
