Checking the Engine-Oil
Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Important:
Do not operate the engine with the oil
level below the Low (or Add) mark on the dipstick,
or over the Full mark.
1.
Move the machine to a level surface.
2.
Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to
Preparing the Machine (page
3.
Allow the engine to cool.
4.
Remove the dipstick from the engine and wipe
the dipstick with a clean rag

Insert the dipstick from the engine as shown in
Figure
76.
Note:
Do not thread the dipstick into the filler
neck when checking the engine oil level.

Remove the dipstick from the filler neck and look
at the oil level in the dipstick
Note:
The engine oil level must cover the
hatch-marked area of the dipstick
7.
If the oil level is low, wipe off the area around
the filler neck and add the specified oil until the
oil level is between the hatch marked areas on
the dipstick.

8.
Hand tighten the dipstick into the filler neck

Changing the Engine Oil

Service Interval: After the first 10 hours
Every 100 hours (more often under severe
condition).
Draining the Engine Oil
1.
Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to

Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
