If you suspect a failure then do the following

Having problems sending a fax

Fax status
The original is not scanned.
The original is scanned oblique-
ly.
An unclear image has been re-
ceived in a destination.
A blank image has been re-
ceived by the destination fax
machine.
Cannot send a fax automatical-
ly.

Is the original too thick?
Is the original too thin or small?
Is the Original Glass dirty?
Does the Lateral Guide match
the original width?
Is the original positioned correct-
ly?
Is the Original Glass dirty?
Is the original text too faint?
Is there a problem on the line sta-
tus or destination fax?
Has the original been loaded with
the side containing the message
facing down? (in use of ADF)
Is the number correct?
Are you calling a telephone-ded-
icated number?
Is there a problem at the destina-
tion? (Paper out, Auto RX is dis-
abled, the power is not turned
off, and other causes)

Corrective actions
Load the original on the Original
Glass. For details, refer to [Us-
