Clean/replace the foam air pre-filter

(1) Clean more frequently when operating in particularly demanding conditions or when there is debris
in the air.
Problem
1. The starter motor does not
turn.
2. The starter motor turns but
the engine doesn't start.
With the ignition key in the
start position, the starter
motor turns but the engine
doesn't start.
3. Difficulty in engine start-up
or engine runs irregularly.
4. Drop in engine performance
during cutting.
5. The engine stops for no
apparent reason.
6. Uneven cutting.

14 TROUBLESHOOTING

Probable cause
Battery not charged enough.
Battery not connected.
Fuse 20A blown.
Fuel cock closed.
No fuel flow.
Ignition fault.
Carburettor problems.
Forward speed too high in rela-
tion to the cutting height.
- Fuel tank empty.
- Try to restart the engine.
The cutting means sharpness
level is low.
Forward speed too high in
relation to the height of the grass
being cut.
The cutting means assembly is
full of grass.
Frequency

Recharge the flat battery.
Check the connections.
Replace the fuse
Open the fuel cock.
- Check the fuel level in the tank.
- Check the fuel filter.
- Check the spark plug cap is
securely in place.
- Check the spark gap and that
the electrodes are clean.
Clean or replace the air filter.
Reduce the forward speed and/
or raise the cutting height.
Fill the fuel tank (if the problem
persists, contact an authorised
assistance centre).
Check the tyre pressure.
Contact an authorised assistan-
ce centre.
Reduce the forward speed and/
or raise the cutting height.
- Wait for the grass to dry.
- Clean the cutting means assembly.
