1. C heck under the hood area to m ake
certain all filler caps are in place and
all loose item s (e.g. tools, oil
containers, etc.) have been rem oved.
2. C lose the hood so that it locks securely.

Trunk Lid

/hW ARNING
Open Trunk a n d E xh au st Gas:
E x h a u st g a s in the cabin o f a vehicle
is dangerous. This gas contains CO
(carbon m onoxide), which is
colorless, odorless, a n d highly
poisonou s. I f inhaled, it can cause
loss o f consciousness a n d death.
B ecause exhaust gas can g e t into the
cabin through an open trunk, keep
the trun k closed when driving.
Key-Operated Trunk
To open the trunk lid, insert the prim ary
key into the slot and turn it clockw ise.
The secondary key w ill not operate this
lock (page 3-2).
To close, use both hands to push the lid
down until the lock snaps shut. D o n 't
slam it.
T hen pull up on it to m ake sure it's secure.
