Driving Y our M azda
Warning/Indicator Lights and Beeps
If the check engine light flashes
continuously, decrease y our speed and
consult an A uthorized M azda D ealer as
soon as possible.
▼ Door-Ajar Warning Light
This warning light com es on w hen any
door or trunk isn 't securely closed.
▼ ABS Warning Light
T he w arning light stays on for a few
seconds w hen the ignition sw itch is turned
to the O N position.
If the ABS w arning light stays on w hile
y o u 're driving, the ABS control unit has
detected a system m alfunction. If this
occurs, your brakes w ill function
norm ally as if the vehicle had no ABS.
Should this happen, consult an A uthorized
M azda D ealer as soon as possible.

N O TE
W hen the engine is jum p-started to
charge the battery, uneven rpm occurs
and the ABS w arning light com es on.
This is due to a w eak battery, not a
m alfunction.
R echarge the battery.
▼ Air Bag System Warning Light
If the air bagseat belt pretensioner system
is OK, the w arning light com es on w hen
the ignition sw itch is turned to the O N
position or after the engine is cranked.
A fter about 6 seconds it goes out.
A system m alfunction is indicated when
the w arning light constantly flashes, stays
on or d oesn't com e on at all. If any o f
these occur, consult an A uthorized M azda
D ealer as soon as possible. T he system
m ay not w ork in an accident.
& WARNING
Self-Servicing the A ir Bag System s:
Self-servicin g o r tam pering w ith the
system s is dangerous. A n a ir bag
cou ld accidentally activate or becom e
disabled. This could cause serious
injuries. N ever tam per w ith the
system s a n d alw ays have an
A u th orized M azda D ea ler perform all
servicing a n d repairs.
