▼ Ignition Switch Positions
T he steering w heel locks to protect
against theft. O nly in this position can the
key be rem oved.
M a n u a l tra n s a x le
W hen turning the ignition sw itch to the
L O C K position, push the key in at the
A C C position.

Rem oving the Key:
I t 's dangerou s to rem ove the key fro m
the ignition sw itch w hile the vehicle is
m oving. R em oving the key allow s the
steering w heel to lock. You w ill lose
steering control a n d a serious
acciden t could occur.
R em ove the key only w hen the vehicle
is parked.
N ot S etting the Parking Brake:
L eavin g the d riv e r's seat w ithout
setting the p a rk in g brake is
dangerous. U nexpected vehicle
m ovem en t could occu r i f the p a rk in g
brake is not set. This could cause an
accident. B efore leaving the d r iv e r 's
seat, alw ays set the p a rk in g brake and
m ake sure the sh ift lever is in P with
an autom atic transaxle or in 1 or R
w ith a m an u al transaxle.
