MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
11. Loosen the bolts (3) (12 pieces) and remove the cover (4).
The cover may lift due to the force of the springs (5 and
(6). Therefore, hold the cover when removing the bolts.
12. Hold the top of the rod (7) and pull it to remove the strainer
(8).
13. Remove all dirt from strainer (8) and wash it in clean diesel
fuel or oil.
If the strainer (8) is damaged, replace it with a new one.
14. Insert the strainer (8).
15. Install cover (4) with the bolts while pressing it with the
hand.
Check O-ring fitted to cover (4). If it is damaged, replace it
with a new one.
16. Fill the hydraulic oil tank via the opening of the filling nozzle (F).
17. Check that the oil level is between the H and L lines on sight gauge (G).
18. Tighten the cap of oil filler port (F) securely.
19. Bleed air from the hydraulic circuit.
For the air bleeding procedure of hydraulic circuit, see "METHOD FOR BLEEDING AIR FROM HYDRAUL-
IC CIRCUIT".
20. After bleeding the air, check the level again in the tank.
For the method to check the oil level, see "METHOD FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN HYDRAULIC TANK,
ADDING OIL".
METHOD FOR CHECKING AND RELEASING NITROGEN GAS CHARGE PRES-
SURE IN ACCUMULATORS (FOR CONTROL CIRCUIT)
The accumulators are charged with high-pressure nitrogen gas, so mistaken operation may cause an
explosion, which will lead to serious injury or death or damage. For handling, always observe the fol-
lowing.
The pressure in the hydraulic circuit cannot be completely removed. When removing the hydraulic
equipment, do not stand in the direction that the oil spurts out when performing the operation. In
addition, loosen the bolts slowly when performing the operation.
Do not disassemble.
Do not bring it near open flame or dispose of them in fire.
Do not perform drilling, welding or flame-cutting.
Do not hit or roll them, or subject them to any impact.
When disposing of it, the gas must be released. Ask your Komatsu distributor for replacement of
the belt.
