Management port

The Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 provides an isolated management port on the switch
fabric/CPU. This separates user traffic from management traffic in highly sensitive environments,
such as brokerages and insurance agencies. By using this dedicated network (see the following
figure) to manage the switches, and by configuring access policies (when routing is enabled), you
can manage the switch in a secure fashion.

You can also use the terminal servers/modems to access the console/modems ports on the switch
(see the following figure).
