Example 2 depicts a redundant network using Split MultiLink Trunking (SMLT). This layout does not
require the use of Spanning Tree Protocol: SMLT prevents loops and ensures that all paths are
actively used. Each wiring closet (WC) can have up to 8 Gbit/s access to the core. This SMLT
configuration example is based on a three-stage network.
