By default, all PCI slots on the system board are set to Gen2 in the
replacement system board.
A problem might arise when an older adapter is not recognized at the
power-on self test (POST) because the adapter requires a Gen1 setting.
To set the slots on the new system board just as the slots were set on the
original system board and avoid such a problem, use the settings information
that you recorded before removing the system board.
To change the appropriate settings from Gen2 to Gen1, use the ASU. For
example, if slot 2 must be Gen1 on the int002st001imm file module, issue the
following command from the active management file module terminal
application:
asu set uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.2 Gen1 --host int002st001imm
Tip: To query and set such options while the file module is powered off, use
the host name for the Integrated Management Module (IMM), which in this
example is int002st001imm instead of the IP host name of int002st001.
If the file module requires modification of the uEFI.PCIeGenSelection settings,
you must reboot the file module for the new settings to take effect.
18. Once the system has finished booting, complete the following two steps:
a. Discover the IMM IP setting by running the following command:
gethostip (#NODENAME)imm
For example, if file module 4 had its system board replaced, the command
would be gethostip int004st001imm.
b. Reconfigure the IMM network setting by running the following command:
sonas_ipcfg --setip --adapter=sm --dhcp=no --ip=#IP_NUM
--netmask=255.255.128.0
where IP_NUM is the IP number obtained in the previous step.

2. Turn off the file module and peripheral devices, then label and disconnect both
power cords and all external cables.
3. Press down on the left and right side latches and pull the server out of the rack
enclosure until both slide rails lock.
