Damage to wheel speed sensor.

ABS malfunction
Left clamp locates the
192
threaded bush; do not loosen
or remove this clamp.
Loosen clamping bolts 2.
Remove quick-release axle 1,
while supporting the wheel.
Roll the front wheel forward to
remove.
Install the front wheel

Use of a non-standard wheel
Malfunctions in operation of ABS

ATTENTION
Tightening threaded fasten-
ers to incorrect tightening
torque
Damage, or threaded fasteners
work loose
Always have the security of
the fasteners checked by a
specialist workshop, preferably
an authorised BMW Motorrad
dealer.
ATTENTION
Front wheel installed wrong
way round
Risk of accident
Note direction-of-rotation ar-
rows on tyre or rim.
Roll the front wheel into
position between the front
suspension.
Raise the front wheel, install
the quick-release axle 1 and
tighten to specified torque.
Quick-release axle in
threaded bush
50 Nm
Tighten clamping bolts 2 to the
specified tightening torque.
