Digital Announcer

The Cook Electric Digital Announcer can be mounted in the Auxiliary cabinet's 23-inch
(58.4-cm) relay rack. It includes the side bracket kit which consists of two side brackets and
four mounting screws. The vertical height is 1.75 (4.4 cm) inches. If the Digital Announcer is
not located in the auxiliary cabinet, it is powered by a 117-volt ac adapter furnished by Cook
Electric. If the Digital announcer is located in the auxiliary cabinet, DC power (-48V) is
provided from a rectifier mounted at the base, with an Alarm Panel at the top.
Note: For R1V3, if the TN750 Announcement circuit pack is provided, this circuit pack
replaces all external announcement devices except for the wake-up announcement unit.
Installation
1.
Connect a pair of wires from the Alarm Panel to (J2) connector pins (1) and (8) of
the Digital Announcer.

Mount 36A voice coupler.
Remove cover from 36A voice coupler.

Connect a pair of wires from (J1) connector pins (J) and (K) or to the modular jack
of the digital announcer, to the T and R terminals on the 36A voice coupler (see
Figure 2-112).
Connect a pair of wires from the CT and CR terminals on the 36A voice coupler to

the 110-type wiring block on the ED-1E443-10 Intra-Connection Panel.

Connect output of 2012D transformer to AC and ACG terminals on 36A voice
coupler.
Plug 2012D transformer into 117-volt power outlet not under control of a wall

switch.
8.
Install cover on 36A voice coupler.
9.
Connect an A25D 25-pair cable from the 25-pair connector on the ED-1E443-10
Intra-Connection Panel to the station side (see Note) of the cross-connect field.
Note: This connection is to a Z203A1 connecting unit provided in a Z100B1
connector module. If Z100A1 connector modules are used at the cross-connect
field, a connecting unit on the station side must be replaced with a Z203A1
connecting unit.
Install yellow (auxiliary) label on connector module.

Install patch cord at cross-connect field.

Administer per AT&T System 75 and System 75 XE Implementation and A T & T
System 75 and System 75 XE Administration.
