Installing Cables Between Cross-Connect Field and Auxiliary Cabinet

Auxiliary equipment that connects to the cross-connect field or switch cabinet can be
optionally mounted inside the auxiliary cabinet. The equipment connects to an ED-1E1443-
10 Intraconnection Panel (Group 1) provided with the auxiliary cabinet. The intraconnection
panel consists of a 110-type 100-pair wiring block located inside the cabinet. The wiring
block is prewired to four 25-pair female connectors on a mounting plate that is attached to
the outside rear skin of the cabinet.
Auxiliary equipment is punched down on the 110-type wiring block. B25A cables connect the
female 25-pair connectors to the cross-connect field. A25D cables connect the female 25-pair
connectors to the switch cabinet. Details for installing the equipment and making the
connections to the cross-connect field are included under the heading A U X I L I A R Y

Station Cables
For clarity in describing the wiring in this manual, station cable is either 25-pair cable,
multiple 25-pair cable, or 4-pair D-inside wire (DIW) run from the equipment room, a site or
satellite location, or adapter to the information outlets. The following types of station cable
(Figure 2-55) are available.
Connectorized (male to female) 25-pair station cable—This cable (B25A) is used
between the equipment room and the site or satellite locations or adapters.
