Z100-TYPE HARDWARE
To remove a patch cord, proceed as follows:
1.
On the Port Assignment Record, locate the jack assignments at the purple and
white or blue fields.
2.
At the purple field, unplug the patch cord.
3.
Remove the plug end of the patch cord from the patch cord guide at the bottom of
the connector module.
4.
Gently lift the patch cord straight up, taking up the slack, until the cord can be
located by its movement beneath the connector modules.
5.
Trace the other end to its connection point at the blue or white field and unplug
the patch cord.
6.
Remove the plug end of the patch cord from the patch cord guide at the bottom of
the corrector module.
7.
Remove the patch cord by pulling either end vertically and to the left or right side.
The direction of pull should be parallel to the wall on which the cross-connect field
is mounted.
8.
Update the Port Assignment Form.
9.
Update system translations.

Installing and Removing Power Adapter Cords

ZD2A-87 power adapter cords are installed as described previously under A D J U N C T
POWERING (see Figure 2-69). The power adapter cords can be used only with the 4-pair
station jacks on the Z100A1 connector modules. The voice terminal and adjunct should be
installed prior to installing the power adapter cord and patch cord.
To remove a power adapter cord, proceed as follows:
1.
On the Port Assignment Record, locate the station jack number for the voice
terminal receiving remote power.
2.
Locate the red plug/jack end of the power adapter cord at the connector module
(blue field).
3.
Open the jack panel and trace the power adapter cord to the remote power supply.
4.
Unplug the power adapter cord at the power supply.
5.
Unplug the patch cord from the red jack of the power adapter cord.
6.
If you are removing a voice terminal, remove the patch cord as described
previously. If you are only removing the remote power, plug the patch cord back
into the blue field station jack.
7.
Remove and store the power adapter cord.
8.
Update the Port Assignment Record.

Satellite Locations

The guidelines provided for installing and removing patch cords and power adapter cords at
the equipment room cross-connect field should be followed at the satellite locations. The
cross-connections are made between the white field (equipment room side) and the blue field
(station side).
