4. If you are instructed to return the old TPM, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging
materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
To complete the parts replacement, go to "Completing the parts replacement" on page 122.
Installing the TPM
To install the TPM, do the following:

1. Prepare your server. See "Preparing your server in advance and removing the server cover" on page 55.
2. If there is an old TPM installed, remove the old TPM. See "Removing the TPM" on page 63.
3. Touch the static-protective package that contains the TPM to any unpainted surface on the outside of
the server. Then, take the TPM out of the package.
Note: Carefully handle the TPM by its edges.
4. Insert the TPM upwards into the TPM connector on the system board.
