Context area: Configured identities.
Active identity
Active identities are indicated by the phone symbol and the extension number or name.
Active identities can be used to make and receive calls.
If there is more than one active identity on the phone, the current outgoing identity will
be used when making calls.
Outgoing identity
If there is more than one active identity on the phone, the phone symbol of the
outgoing identity is preceded by an arrow . When you call someone, this is your
identity for the call.

Note: Identities can be deactivated without removing the registration settings by changing their
status to "inactive" on the phone's web interface. Inactive identities are not displayed on the
idle screen. They cannot be called or selected as the outgoing identity. To deactivate the identity,
open the phone's web interface > Identity (1-2).
1. Change the "Identity active" setting to off.
2. Click on Re-Register.
3. Click on Save.

Function key line
The symbols on the buttons in this line depict the functions that can be activated by pressing the function key
underneath the respective symbol. See "Appendix 1 - Display Symbols and Icons" on page 83 for a complete
list. The factory defaults are:
Directory. See "Directory" on page 39.
Settings menu. See "Settings" on page 31.

Help menu with phone's IP address and VTech web page address. This key is replaced by the
status info key
Displaying all currently available status messages. Whenever a status message becomes
newly available, this key replaces the function mapped onto the key.
Press the key to display the status messages; press
message. When all deletable messages are gone, the symbol disappears from the function
key line; the message in the status line will also disappear.
The function mapped onto the key is now available on this key again until a new status
message is available or until a reboot when all current status messages will be displayed
anew.
