4.3 Setting documents

4.3.1 Using the scanner glass

Open the document cover (A).

Place the document FACE DOWN on the scanner
glass (B), aligning the top left of the document with
the corner where the
R To make a portrait copy, set the original in portrait
direction. To make a landscape copy, set the
original in landscape direction.
R For A6 size documents, always place it to match
in portrait direction (long edge is left side).

4. Recording Paper and Documents
Note:
R Confirm that there are no documents in the automatic
document feeder.
R Place the original onto the scanner glass gently. To
avoid malfunction, do not press down too firmly.
R If the original is a book thicker than 15 mm, do not
close the document cover.
R Confirm that any ink, paste or correction fluid has
dried completely, as this may mark the scanner glass.
4.3.2 Using the automatic document feeder

Open the document tray (A) and the document sub
tray (B).
R To open the document sub tray, press its centre
part (C).

Insert the document (up to 50 sheets) FACE UP into
the feeder until a single beep is heard.
R To make a portrait copy, set the original in portrait
direction. To make a landscape copy, set the
original in landscape direction.
