5.4 Configuring the server
This section contains information about configuring the server and installing the
operating system.

Make sure that the energy saving functions are disabled in the BIOS
Setup during server operation.
5.4.1 Configuring the PCI SAS controller with
"Integrated Mirroring Enhanced"
The server has an PCI SAS controller with "Integrated Mirroring Enhanced"
functionality. You can configure the PCI SAS controller either before or during
ServerStart. Using ServerStart is recommended.

A separate utility is available to the controller for IME configuration.
Further information can be found in the "Integrated RAID for SAS User's
Guide" (on the ServerBooks DVD under "Controllers").

5.4.2 Configuring the PCI SAS controller with RAID
functionality
The server has an PCI SAS controller with RAID functionality. You can configure
the PCI SAS controller either before or during ServerStart. Using ServerStart is
recommended.
