TRANSMISSION
INSTALLING THE TRANSMISSION
1. Install:
• shift drum
• washer
• spring (short)
• shift fork "R" 1
• drive axle assembly 2
• guide bar 3
• clutch dog 2 4
• spring (long) 5
• shift fork "L" 6
NOTE:
Be sure to install the shift forks "R" and "L" as
shown in the illustration, and make sure that
the shift fork guide pin is properly seated in the
shift drum groove.
2. Check:
• shift operation
Unsmooth operation → Repair.
NOTE:
• Oil each gear and bearing thoroughly.
• Before assembling the crankcase, be sure
that the transmission is in neutral and that
the gears turn freely.
