Clamp screw "1":
2 N·m (0.2 kgf·m, 1.5 ft·lb)

Deactivating the tilt limiter

To fully tilt the outboard motor up, deactivate
the tilt limiter according to the following pro-
cedure.
1. Disconnect the tilt limiter couplers "a" and
"b".
2. Connect the tilt limiter couplers "a" and
"b".

Installing Y-COP

See the Yamaha Security System Y-COP
installation manual.
• Install the receiver so that the "UP"
mark is facing up.
• Do not install the receiver in a location
where it will be exposed to water.
• Do not cover the receiver with metal
objects. Otherwise, signals may not be
received.

1. Install the receiver "1", and then tighten
the receiver screws "2" to the specified
torque.
TIP:
Mount the receiver within 3 m (10 ft) from the
steering position.

Receiver screw "2":
4 N·m (0.4 kgf·m, 3.0 ft·lb)
2. Connect the Y-COP wires. See "System
diagram" (3-29).

Registering the receiver ID to the
ECM
1. Check that the engine start switch is
OFF.
2. Push the unlock button "1" of the trans-
mitter. The buzzer of the receiver will
sound 2 short beeps.
3. Turn the engine start switch to ON. The
buzzer of the receiver will sound 1
medium beep.
