for discoloration.
Bars
discolored

pairs indicate
grounded armature
coils,
in
which case
the
starter
motor must
be
replaced.
NOTE

Do
not
use
emery
or
sand paper on
the
commutator.
Check
for
continuity
between
individual
commutator
bars;
there
should be
continuity.
