CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Install
the valve spring
retainers
and
cotters
using
the spe-
cial
tool as
shown.
To
prevent
loss
of tension,
do
not
compress
the valve spring
more
than necessary.
TOOL:
Valve
spring
compressor
07757 - 0010000
Tap
the valve
stems
gently with
two
plastic
hammers
as
shown
to seat the cotters
firmly.
CAUTION
•
Support
the cylinder
head
aho\<e the
work
bench
surface
to
prevent
possible
vahe
damage.
CYLINDER
HEAD
INSTALLATION
Clean
the gasket material
off
tho
mating
surface of the
cylin-
der head.
Make
sure
that
the
cam
chain
guide
is
installed
properly.
Install
the
dowel
pins
and
a
new
cylinder
head
gasket
as
shown.
Install
the cylinder head.
Install
the
cam
chain tensioner
upper
bolt
sod
sealing
washer.
Tighten
the
cam
chain tensioner
bolts.
