A
contaminated brake
disc
or
pad
reduces slopping power.
Discard contaminated pads
and
clean
a
contaminated
disc
with a
high
quality
brake degreasing agent
.
CAUTION
•
Avoid
spilling
brake
fluul
on
painted,
plastic
or rubber
parts.
Place
a
rag or shop
towel
over
these
parts
whenever
the
system
is
serviced.
•
This
section
covers
maintenance
of
the
front
hydraulic brake.
•
Once
the hydraulic
system has been opened,
or
if
the
brake
feels
spongy,
the
system
must
be
bled.
•
Do
not
allow
foreign material
to
enter
the
system
when
filling
the
reservoir.
•
Always
use
fresh
DOT
3
or
A brake
fluid
from a
sealed container
when
servicing the
system.
Do
not
mix
different
types
of
fluid
as they
may
not
be
compatible.
•
Always
check brake
operation before
riding
the motorcycle.
