Installing Fail-Safe Modules
Fail-safe power modules, electronic modules, and terminal modules are part of the ET 200S
range of modules. They are installed using the same procedure as for all standard modules
in an ET 200S.

Make sure that the address switch setting on the module matches the PROFIsafe address in

The switch setting on the address switch of the F-I/O, in other words, its PROFIsafe destination
address must be unique within the network* and station** (throughout the system). A maximum of
1,022 PROFIsafe destination addresses can be assigned in one system. That is, a maximum of
1,022 F-modules can be addressed using PROFIsafe.
Exception: In different I-slaves, F-I/O can have the same PROFIsafe target addresses since they
are only addresses within the station, in other words by the F-CPU in the I-slave.
