PISTON/PISTON RING
• First, install a spacer 1 into the oil ring groove and then install
the two side rails 2. The spacer and side rails do not have a
specific top or bottom when they are new. When reassem-
bling used parts, install them in their original place and direc-
tion.

When installing the spacer, be careful not to allow its
two ends to overlap in the piston ring groove.
• Install the 2nd ring and 1st ring.
NOTE:
1st ring and 2nd ring differ in shape.
• The 1st and 2nd piston rings should be installed with their
marks facing up.
• Position the piston ring gaps as shown.
NOTE:
Before inserting the piston into the cylinder, check that the gaps
are properly positioned.
