On the back side of the axle assembly, remove the
bolt securing the axle pin (Figure 17).

Remove the axle pin; use a drift punch and
hammer to tap the axle pin out; if needed. Lower
the axle assembly out of the tractor frame (Figure
18).

Installation - reverse the order of removal.

Steering Gear
Description
The steering gear assembly is made up of a vertically
mounted steering shaft and a horizontal sector gear.
The sector gear is adjustable so that excessive
backlash play in steering gears can be removed
(Figure 19).

Steering Backlash Adjustment
Use the following procedure if there is excessive
steering backlash.
1.
Remove battery and battery tray from the tractor.
