Correct driver's seat position

& WARNING Risk of injury from adjusting
the vehicle settings while the vehicle is in
motion
You could lose control of the vehicle in the
following situations:
if you adjust the driver's seat, the head
R
restraint, the steering wheel or the mirror
while the vehicle is in motion
if you fasten your seat belt while the vehi‐
R
cle is in motion
Before starting the engine: adjust the
#
driver's seat, the head restraint, the
steering wheel or the mirror and fasten
your seat belt.
Observe the following when adjusting steering
wheel 1, seat belt
2
and driver's seat 3:
You are as far away from the driver's airbag
R
as possible.
You are sitting in a normal upright position.
R
Your thighs are slightly supported by the seat
R
cushion.

Seats and stowing

Your legs are not entirely stretched and you
R
can depress the pedals properly.
The back of your head is supported at eye
R
level by the center of the head restraint.
You can hold the steering wheel with your
R
arms slightly bent.
You can move your legs freely.
R
You can see all the displays in the instrument
R
cluster clearly.
You should have a good overview of traffic
R
conditions.
The seat belt is pulled snugly against the
R
body and must be routed across the center
of your shoulder and across your hips in the
pelvic area.
