Vehicles with automatic transmission:

The transmission is in position h, k or i.

Activating the HOLD function

Depress the brake pedal and after a short

time depress further until the ë display
appears in the multifunction display.
Release the brake pedal.

Deactivating the HOLD function

Depress the accelerator pedal to pull away.

Depress the brake pedal until the ë dis‐
#
play disappears from the multifunction dis‐
play.
In the following situations, the vehicle is held by
the transmission position j or by the electric
parking brake:
When the seat belt is unfastened and the

driver's door is opened.
When the engine is switched off.
R
When there is a malfunction in the system or
R
if the power supply is insufficient.

Adaptive Damping System

The suspension with adaptive damping adjust‐
ment has the following features:
Variable damping characteristics

Continuous damper tuning
R
The damping characteristics adapt to the current
operating and driving situation.
The damping is tuned individually for each wheel
and is affected by the following factors:
Your driving style, e.g. sporty
R
The road surface conditions
R
The drive program selected
R
Vehicle load
R
Driving and parking 169
The drive program can be adjusted using the
DYNAMIC SELECT switch.
