Incorrect positioning of the child restraint

system.
Forward-facing and rearward-facing child
restraint systems on the front passenger
seat
When using a rearward-facing child restraint sys‐
tem on the front passenger seat, the front
passenger airbag must always be disabled. This
is only the case if the PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF
indicator lamp is lit continuously (
When using a child restraint system on the front
passenger seat, it is essential to observe the fol‐
lowing:
Move the front passenger seat as far back as
R
possible.
Retract the seat cushion length as far as pos‐
R
sible.
The entire base of the child restraint system
R
must always rest on the sitting surface of the
front passenger seat.
The backrest of the forward-facing child
R
restraint system must lie as flat as possible
against the backrest of the front passenger
seat. The child restraint system must not
touch the roof or be put under strain by the
head restraints.
Adjust the angle of the seat backrest and the
R
head restraint position accordingly.
Move the seat cushion inclination to the
R
highest, most vertical position.
Always make sure that the shoulder belt
R
strap is correctly routed from the seat belt
outlet of the vehicle to the shoulder belt

cle, they may be able to set the vehicle in
motion, for example by:
Releasing the parking brake.

Shifting the automatic transmission out

transmission into neutral.
Starting the engine.

In addition, they may operate vehicle equip‐
ment.
Never leave children and animals unat‐

tended in the vehicle.
When leaving the vehicle, always take

the SmartKey with you and lock the
vehicle.
