Position socket

Position wheel wrench

tighten the hub cap clockwise.
Specified tightening torque: 18 lb-ft
(25 Nm).

Raising the vehicle when changing a wheel
Requirements
There are no persons in the vehicle.

The vehicle is prepared for a wheel change

Important notes on using the jack:
Only use the vehicle-specific jack that has
R
been tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz
to raise the vehicle.
The jack is only designed for raising and
R
holding the vehicle for a short time while a

and turn
wheel is being changed and not for mainte‐
nance work under the vehicle.
The jack must be placed on a firm, flat and
R
non-slip surface. If necessary, use a large,
on socket
2
and
load-bearing, non-slip underlay.
The base of the jack must be positioned ver‐
R
tically under the jack support point.
Rules of conduct when the vehicle is raised:
Never place your hands or feet under the
R
vehicle.
Do not lie under the vehicle.
R
Do not start the engine and do not release
R
the parking brake.

Do not open or close any doors or the trunk

lid.
Using the wheel wrench, loosen the wheel
#
bolts on the wheel you wish to change by
about one full turn. Do not unscrew the bolts
completely.
