8.5 Shutter Output Settings

Virtually every aspect of the shutter outputs are adjustable. The two shutter outputs can be
independently set – Output 1 can activate multiple times where Output 2 can be set to only
activate once. The settings are quite flexible but need some thorough explaining.
Shutter outputs consist of four parts:
1. Number of times to activate (pics per move)
2. Pre-trigger delay
3. On time
4. Off time
You'll notice down below that the first and second "on" and "off" times can be adjusted
independently. For those who do a lot of focus stacking with mirror lock-up you may find it
useful to adjust the mirror lock-up time independently from the shutter duration. This can
significantly decrease the duration of a stack.
Any time there is a reference to the "shutter button" it is the camera icon:
The diagram below shows the parts that make up a complete shutter cycle:

8.5.1 Pics Per Move

This is the number of times the shutter output will be activated per motor move or press of the
shutter button. For most applications this will be set to "1", whereas with mirror lockup you will
want this set to "2".
Here is an example with "Pics Per Move" set to "3":
