7.0 – INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING THE
SEAT WITHOUT THE BASE
The infant car seat can be installed in the vehicle without the
base. DO NOT attempt to use these installation instructions
while the base is connected to the seat.
Prior to installing the infant car seat without the base, read and
fully understand Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.5.

7.1 Installing the Seat in a Vehicle

• You MUST recline the infant car seat according to the
following instructions.
• Failure to properly recline the infant car seat on the vehicle
seat increases the risk of serious injury or death.
• If the infant car seat is too upright:
Your child's head may drop forward,
and your child may suffer breathing
problems or asphyxiate.
• If the infant car seat is too reclined:
A crash could put too much force on
your child or cause ejection from the
seat, resulting in serious injury or
death.
