5.4 Installing and Adjusting the Infant
Car Seat on an Airplane
The infant car seat base is compatible with most airplane seats.
Follow the instructions for installing in an automobile with a
lap-only belt to secure the base (see Section 5.2). For installation
in airplane seats, if the belt positioner door is interfering with
the seat belt buckle then it is acceptable to place the seat belt
over the top of the belt positioner door to obtain a proper
installation.
• Notify the airline ahead of time that you intend to bring the
seat on board.
• Install the base in a rear-facing position only in a forward-
facing aircraft seat. Consult your flight attendant regarding
proper placement of the infant car seat.
• DO NOT use this infant car seat if the airplane seat belt does
not hold the infant car seat base securely.

5.5 Removing the Base

Remove the infant car seat from the base before uninstalling the
base from the vehicle. DO NOT leave the unsecured seat or base
in the vehicle.
